Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge

8/10 Good
"The facilities are very good, as is the food. The parking is a little inconvenient, and it's quite a way to lug your luggage to the glamorous tents. There are little trucks, but that part of the experience is a bit off-putting, but the rest was very nice."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in King Leopold Ranges?
The best areas to stay when visiting the King Leopold Ranges are around the towns of Fitzroy Crossing and Derby, as these provide the most convenient access points to the region's natural attractions.Fitzroy Crossing, situated on the Fitzroy River, acts as a central hub for exploring the eastern and central parts of the Ranges. The town itself is small but offers essential services, including accommodation and dining options. It's the primary gateway to places like Geikie Gorge National Park, known for its stunning limestone cliffs and boat tours, and Windjana Gorge, famous for its freshwater crocodiles. For adventure-seeking couples, staying here provides a practical base for exploring the rugged beauty and unique wildlife of the area.Derby, located further west on the coast, is another excellent base, particularly for accessing the western parts of the King Leopold Ranges and the iconic Horizontal Falls. This town is larger than Fitzroy Crossing and offers a wider range of facilities, including a jetty known for its impressive tidal movements and the famous Boab Prison Tree.
